Human Factors for Medical Professionals

June 8, 2012

In the Swiss Alps HF Solutions recently organized a four day interactive Human Factors course for medical professionals. With a “luxary” mountain hut as base camp, and the snow covered peaks as background, physicians and nurses were introduced to the science of Human Performance and Human Limitations. We covered all the basic topics of Human Factors and Crew Resource Management, which included but was not limited to Decision Making, Team Performance, Human Error, Communication, Situational Awareness, Coping with Fatigue and Stress and Safety management. The feedback we received was positive, so we are organizing next courses in August and September. The course is credited with 36 CME for Physicians and  Anesthesiologists receive 16 SGAR Points. For more information, please contact Michèle Imhasly.
